The Bible prophesies that "a man of peace" will stand in the rebuilt temple claiming to be God. This is an event that will happen in the middle of the 70th week of Daniel. Some say this event was already fulfilled by past tyrants, but such theories do not account for correlating prophecies such as the mark of the beast, the Euphrates River drying, the alliance of kings from the east, and more.
